The Murder at Plato House is the first book of four that features Marie Quizno, the Detective Chief of the fictional town of Big Rock, Colorado. Marie and her team investigate the stabbing death of an elderly resident of retirement home Plato House. They identify and bring a suspect to trial. The verdict and fallout from the investigation are a surprise.

Early one Autumn morning the Big Rock police find the body of Eddy Hickok on the lawn that borders the brick-paved mall in front of the county building. His injuries indicate that he was brutally beaten to death.   Marie Quizno, Big Rock’s Chief of Detectives investigates.      She discovers that the victim was a pornographer who had induced Sharon, the teen age daughter of Amy and Matt Wilson, to perform in a video at the Baddyflicks studio. A man comes forward who witnessed the arson that burned down the Baddyflicks studio.

 

 Marie traces the arson to Wilson using the witness’s description of three of the license numbers on his jeep. She is convinced that Wilson was the man who beat Hickok to death.

 

 Realizing that she doesn’t have sufficient evidence to convict Wilson of Hickok’s murder, she arranges with District Attorney Martin A. Smart to prosecute him for the lesser crime of arson that she believes she can substantiate.

 

 Wilson is tried. The jury’s surprise decision is a well-received shock to the population of Big Rock.

An Old Timer's Scuba Tales tells the story of a man's love affair with going underwater from his first experience on a hose in World War II through the years 1964 through 2004 during which he made more than 600 dives.

The Ride tells the story of the author's solo coast-to-coast solo bicycle ride on a ten-speed bicycle to celebrate his fifty-ninth birthday

The Ship written by a veteran of World War II who served aboard a Landing Ship Tank (LST)  tells the story of the coming together of ninety-day wonder college boys commissioned in the U.S. Navy with a mustang commissioned from the ranks to be its captain.

Old People 2nd edition is a series of related stories abour old people, their children, and their contemporaries. It is based on the author's observations of old people throughout his life and the residents of the retirement home where he lives. The stories follow the live and some deaths of some residents of Colorado. With few exceptions most of the old people came from other places because of work transfers, to relocate their businesses, or to retire. As the old people in the stories age, they move to retirement homes. The fictional one in these stories is The Rest Place. Many of the stories are about people living there and their interactions with each other.

The Body in the Park is the third book of four that features Marie Quizno, the Detective Chief of the fictional town of Big Rock, Colorado. When Marie visits her artist friend Ana Alvarez, who lives in Greenwich Village, they go for a run in Central Park. While Ana is examining cast iron flowers on the Gotham Bridge, Marie spots the victim lying in the bushes below. This leads to investigations by New York's Joint Anti-terrorism task force, the FBI, the NSA, and the NNSA. In a surprise ending, Marie finds out who committed the extra-judicial murder.
